Niagara Falls

Located on the river of the same name, Niagara Falls form a large group of waterfalls in the eastern part of the border between Canada and the United States. These famous waterfalls are not renowned for their height, but rather by their size and flow of water from the Great Lakes of North America. Without a doubt a wonder on earth there is to see some time in their life.

Niagara Falls actually consist of three waterfalls: The ‘Canadian Falls (Ontario), the “American Falls” (New York) and “Bridal Veil Falls.”

Besides its beauty and spectacular Niagara Falls are very useful to provide hydroelectric energy, and promote tourism in the area. Particularly in two cities: Niagara Falls (New York) and Niagara Falls (Ontario).

Recommendations to visit Niagara Falls
* The major tourist occurs in spring and summer in the northern hemisphere, so perhaps it is best to avoid these dates. However at that time called much attention to the artificial lights on the Canadian side.
* Niagara Scenic Trolley, is an agency that offers guided tours through the cave of the winds to a point just below the waterfall, Bridal Veil.
* Two of the best spots to view the falls from Canada are Queen Victoria Park and the Konica Minolta Tower.

Taj Mahal: A Love Story

Taj Mahal: A Love Story

Cried a soul in love
tears, pain, sorrow, crying
your heart sings a sad song
one hand, tired, after window closed

There from his palace, from his window
admires this white teardrop
poetry as art, the passion starts art
for you, my beloved, my wife, my soul mate

… And the Taj Mahal is this: poetry as art, a love song, a sublime work that only a loving soul would be able to offer the world. There, just above the entrance portico, you can read some verses from the Quran that describe the paradise that give you an idea of what we will find and what we feel, as magic words, that we bronze gate find a “pearl palace surrounded by gardens.”

There is nothing deeper to any traveler to sit in one of the benches found throughout the Garden of Paradise and admire the impressive silhouette of the mausoleum silhouetted against a clear sky, which gradually stains pink at dusk, while background, outside the temple in the city, in Agra, a small town in northern India in the State of Uttar Pradesh, we hear the chants and prayers of these people. So while we admire the magnificent perfection of the whole, its symmetry, the ponds, a perfect golden key, open the way to the marble temple, among lotus flowers floating on the water, our mind wanders absorbed , lonely, forgotten by both tourists and around us, and we remember almost with tears in his eyes the sad story of Emperor Shah Jahan.

Shah Jahan to his beloved Arjumand met in a bazaar where it was selling crystals. Admired for her beauty was not able to speak to him at first, pursued by the armies of his father, the Emperor, because of that relationship, after two wives and five years since that first meeting, joined in marriage. Arjumand became known as Mumtaz Mahal, “the chosen of the palace.” For years they were a loving couple who lived on each other, she was her faithful companion in all his campaigns, he showered her with gifts, details, flowers, diamonds. After the death of Emperor Jehangir, Shah Jahan ascended the throne. Two years later, in 1630, tragedy struck …

In order to defend his newly created rule of external attacks, joined various portions of the wall, using farm labor, and spending vast fortunes on its construction. Quin Shi Huang made history as the first tyrant and dictator of China, and still today in China, he was admired almost as a god. It was he who reformed the deed, who established new forms of government, who set the currency systems and created the first network of canals for irrigation.

Thanks to him, should be enough monuments and palaces all over China, and even for protection, was buried in the Chinese province of Xian a magnificent army of terracotta soldiers …. [Jordan] Petra, the stone city

May 20, 2010

Petra

Petra is an archaeological site in Jordan. They are the remains of the Nabatean capital of the ancient kingdom founded around 300 BC. His most famous remains are the buildings carved from the same stone of the rocky walls of the narrow valley of the Arava.

The name means stone in Greek, and it is precisely because the city is entirely built with pink sandstone. The most famous buildings are the Temple of the Winged Lions and the Treasury. Since 1985 is recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO.

Abandoned for many years, was revealed to the world’s knowledge by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812. Petra also remained inaccessible to most people until after the First World War.

A highway reaches Petra since 2004. In Travel Wiki recommend you hire a Bedouin at the entrance of the archaeological park in the Visitors Center, as one can well take advantage of the knowledge they have guides who sometimes have lived their whole life in Petra. And for the rental of a donkey or a camel, they will tell the history of the site.

The entrance to Petra is a long and narrow canyon called the Siq. Just exit the Siq, visitors may see the greatness of the building known as the Treasury, without a doubt the most impressive of all. Used in the filming of the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
